ABOUT US
As an introvert, I have always felt safe and comfortable in the company of animals. The peace I feel with them is my refuge from the stresses and challenges of life.
I tend to make life decisions at my nines, so at 39, I thought it was time to stop working so many long hours and spend some of my time doing what brought me joy. This choice resulted in my mom and me starting to volunteer at a no-kill animal shelter nearby. We spent many years becoming part of the “rescue community” until I thought I would like to try it on my own, with more control over the decisions to be made. Healing Heart Haven for Animals was born in 2018 with the ultimate vision being that of a small sanctuary with a variety of animals, but, for right now, we are a small group helping as many cats as we can.
By my side, the whole time, has been my mom, Doris. She’s with me through the cold, the rain and the heat; the successes and the heartaches. Now, in 2025, she is a vital 90 years old and I struggle to keep up with her many days! Please join us on our journey as we strive to help as many kitties as we can and introduce you to some of our rescues and colony cats.
What We Do
We are focused on giving cats the medical care, shelter, love, and time they need to find their forever homes. Many of our furry ones have faced challenges on their road to adoption, but we are committed to giving each one of them the time they need to heal and the dignity they deserve.
Much of our work is within colonies of homeless cats; providing food, water and medical attention, including spay/neuter services. Adoptable kitties are rescued from the streets to find their forever homes.
